I feel like August is perhaps a bit of a “bad luck” month for me because my blogging streak got completely derailed last week due to work and stress. Then, I had to stop using sheet masks because I have a weird rash on one side of my face which is still healing so I will just be dipping into my stash for a hopefully just a week or two more and then I can get back to my 100 days of sheet masking! I was just over the halfway mark when I got my rash so I was hoping to be done by the end of September, but alas we will need to go into October!
When it comes to sheet masks, the Tony Moly I’m Real series is probably one of the most well-known in both the Asian and North American markets as they were at one point one of the only options on Sephora and were sold at an incredible value on Amazon for years. While I wouldn’t consider them to be the best sheet masks out there, they are a good entry level sheet mask with fun packaging at a reasonable price point.
Seaweed Skin Purifying*
What makes this mask special? It contains seaweed extract (midway point of ingredients list) which is meant to refresh and purify the skin.
All of the masks fit identically so I only took one set of photos as I am sure you will all get the idea if you haven’t tried these masks already. The fabric is on the thicker side
Mask Summary:
Price: $3-4 CDN
What it does: Helps with skin radiance and purifies skin
Scent: Refreshing, cool
Essence Type: Clear, watery
Duration: 30 minutes
Thickness: Medium
Mask Fit: Pretty good even though it was a thicker sheet mask material. There were some wrinkles, but the mask never lifted from my chin.
Tackiness: Very light
Hydration: Skin felt very soft, but I applied Wishful Honey Balm Niacinamide Moisturizer
Other notes: N/A
Pomegranate Elasticity*
What makes this mask special? This mask contains pomegranate fruit extract to firm the skin through promotion in collagen production and it also works as an antioxidant. This ingredient is found in the lower half of the list in lower concentration than the preservative phenoxyethanol which always gets my spidey-sense going…

Aloe Moisturizing*
What makes this mask special? This mask contains aloe and hyaluronic acid both of which are around the halfway to lower half of the ingredients list. What I liked about this mask is that it is what I would consider a good beginner’s mask as it hydrates and doesn’t claim to do more than that. It’s basic, but in a good way!

What makes this mask special? This mask contains wine extract at the top of the ingredients list and supposedly helps to purify the skin and tighten enlarged pores. The essence also contains a host of other plant ingredients in relatively high concentrations like tea, rosemary, Japanese camellia and lemon balm extract and is one of the more impressive masks in the I’m Real collection in terms of ingredients!

Final verdict: There was a time when Amazon was selling all of 10 of these masks for an incredibly good price and I missed my opportunity. I have tried a few of the others in addition to these four, but I would definitely be open to trying all of them should there be a sale as I feel that for the fit and ingredients that they are now a bit on the pricier side. I feel these masks should be in the $3 range vs $5-$6, but they are a good option if you are just starting to get into the world of sheet masking!
You can find the Tony Moly I’m Real sheet masks at a variety of Asian beauty stores as well as www.tonymoly.ca!
